AIYEP 2024 Application Terms & Conditions

Applications are open for Australian citizens and permanent residents aged between 21 and 25 years to join the Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP). AIYEP is a one of a kind, highly successful program marking its 42nd year in 2024. Twenty-one Indonesians and twenty-one Australians aged 21–25 years will spend thirteen weeks (September to January) interacting and engaging both online and in person.

During the program you will engage online for four weeks completing the Global Competence Certificate and establishing relationships with your Indonesian counterparts. Each group will then spend four weeks in each other's country where you will undertake work experience, enjoy educational and cultural performances, attend special events, live with a local family and attend an Australia-Indonesia Youth Forum.

This fully funded program aims to provide opportunities for young people from Indonesia and Australia to gain a better understanding of the culture, development and way of life of each other's country. AIYEP alumni form a vibrant group whose members have gone on to work in areas with a continuing involvement in the bilateral relationship. Indicative dates for AIYEP are from 26 September 2024 to 9 January 2025.

Please read the program outline and the frequently asked questions for more information.
